PNFS served a s56 notice on Kirklees in March 2018 for the whole of the byway known as Ramsden Road. We have secured agreement from Kirklees that they will phase repairs over the next 3 years (due to cost & complexity of work). The works carried out in June 2018 are the first phase of repairs. The Eastern section was full of deep and extensive potholes as can be seen from the November 2017 image. These have now all been repaired (see second image).
The second phase of works will be undertaken by Kirklees in 2019.
We also expect Kirklees to undertake further works on the steeper sections of the byway next summer. The Society will be keeping a very close eye on the whole process ready to push things along and/or bring it back to the C&IO Committee for potential legal action should Kirklees not keep to what has been agreed.
This is a very positive start to getting Ramsden Road into a good state.
