Trans Pennine Trail

News item dated Wednesday 20th January 2021

Following heavy, persistent rainfall due to Storm Christoph, stretches of the Trans Pennine Trail through Stockport are currently flooded. This includes a section of the TPT, which is within the area that is currently closed for our ongoing works, so an existing diversion via Battersea Road and Vale Road is already in place.

In addition, the Travis Brow footway under Hollywood Bridge has also been closed due to flooding. We have also had reports that the Manchester Road end of the TPT is suffering due to it being on low-lying land. However, some people are still trying to access it.

We have contacted Totally Local Company to ask them to place additional signs in the area to discourage users from using this stretch.

Further updates will be published on the Council and TPT social media feeds.
