News item dated Saturday 10th July 2021

On Wednesday, 28th July the society will be holding a ‘circular’ walk of just over 10 miles to commemorate our late Chairman David Hurrell.

The walk will begin from Grindleford railway station at 10:45 and will take in the spectacular Padley Gorge before heading up into the Longshaw Estate. From there it will traverse the gritstone edges of Froggat and Curbar before returning via The Maynard Arms in Grindleford where we will toast David’s memory and his contribution to the society.

The walk will be led by David’s son Andrew and Diane Fortesque, a friend of his father’s.

Trains from Manchester Piccadilly (09:42) and Sheffield (10:15) stop at Grindleford.

PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE CLOSER TO THE DATE IN CASE THERE ARE ANY LATE CHANGES
