Old Humpy gets put back together again

When the sun shines and there's good news on a path there must be a picture. Ironville FP13 is the towing path of the disused Cromford canal. The Portland Arm was a short spur off the main canal that served Jacksdale and linked with a tramway from Portland Colliery.

Over years the bridge over the arm entrance had crumbled and unsympathetic repairs had been carried out. The Cromford Canal and Codnor Park Reservoir Committee put together a grant application which was successful and the bridge has been restored by a local stonemason.
